Horses

Mig Lake

Four people riding for pleasure on big horses always trigger a debate among hikers. These are some pros and cons:
Historically, they were the first on trails. You can't change traditions.
Necessity requires horses for trail maintenance since motorized vehicles are not allowed and some equipment is too heavy to carry.
Demonstrably, they damage the trail when it is wet and soft.
Clearly, their piles of shit insult every hiker who is required to leave no trace.
Conclusion: Practice tolerance, minimize horse impact, try llamas.
